It was my delight to photograph the beautiful George Liu. To witness the fluidity and openness of they/their nature. In Native American culture they have 5 definitions of gender. They do not judge a person on their gender preference but on their contributions to society. Often a person embodying both male and female characteristic, known as two spirits, was highly revered, families considered them lucky as they could see the world thur both genders at the same time. I feel we could learn much from these beliefs.
